When I came in October, on behalf of Highland Titles, to offer the Nature Reserve at Keil Hill to the local community, one of the questions raised by the Community Council was the adequacy of parking. Clearly any increase in the use of existing parking at Duror cemetery cannot be viewed as acceptable.

So I am pleased to report that we have now finished construction of a new access track to the Sheepwash Car Park by the Salachan Burn entrance. This is where the initial interpretation boards will be located and will undoubtedly be the best place for visitors to start their walk. For the moment the track is closed whilst it dries and settles. We expect to open it in about 8 weeks time. We have installed a people counter that will help us track visitors and we hope that the improved parking arrangements will increase local use of the land.
