Duror pre-school nursery is located in the village community centre.  It has its own dedicated room which is bright and vibrant with the childrens work displayed around the walls.  It has wonderful views of the surrounding hills and lochs and looks over the community playing field where the children often play on a nice day.    The nursery has access to a large indoor hall for extended play especially in wet weather and has its own climbing frame and swings outside on the playing field.  Staff encourage as much outdoor play where possible and regular outings around the local area are included in the curriculum.

Duror pre-school is managed by Care and Learning Alliance (CALA) www.careandlearningalliance.co.uk 

The pre-school has a Centre Manager who visits weekly and a Senior Play worker and assistant play worker.  We are open Mon – Fri  9am -12pm during term time

We follow the 3-5 curriculum and by 2010 the Curriculum for Excellence will be fully implemented in the planning.

Staff are registered with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) and the Centre is registered with the Care Commission and yearly inspections are done.

Our centre has achieved its Bronze status and is aiming for the Silver award, through ECO Schools. A garden area is being developed so children have the opportunity to grow vegetables and plants
