  • Connel Bridge Maintenance: Essential maintenance on the A828 Connel Bridge improved road surface quality and prepared the structure for future upgrades while minimizing travel disruption.
  • Pedestrian Crossings: A puffin crossing project in Golspie was recently completed, providing insights and lessons for a planned puffin crossing project in Brora.
  • Upcoming Projects: Future plans include retaining wall replacements in Glen Ogle and Pitlochry, alongside further pedestrian and safety improvements.

Community, Education & Charity Initiatives

  • STEM & Education: During the 2025/26 academic year, nearly 10,000 pupils across Scotland participated in Transport Scotland’s Schools Education Programme delivered by BEAR Scotland. Activities included STEM career events, virtual work experience, and youth-led biodiversity initiatives.
  • Charitable Support: BEAR Scotland donated £9,521 to 24 charities and local community groups between April and June, supporting causes such as CHAS and SAMH.
  • Community Engagement: The North West team actively engaged with local MSPs, community councils, and residents to keep stakeholders informed about upcoming developments.
