Roadworks in Duror Thursday 14th and Friday 15th August
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential drainage works at three locations on the A828 trunk road. The drainage works are programmed to be undertaken between 8am and 4.30pm each day from Monday 11th to Friday 15th August 2025. The detailed programme is as follows:
- Rosebank (Strathappin House to Appin Terrace) - Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th August
- Barcaldine (Bars Lodge Access to Home Farm Access) – Wednesday 13th August
- Duror (Duror Primary School to Ivy Bank) – Thursday 14th and Friday 15th August
A map of the works in Duror is shown below, and there's a link to the full letter from BEAR at the bottom of this news article.

The A828 road will remain open. However, due to the nature of the works, it will be necessary to implement a traffic management system incorporating temporary traffic lights and a convoy system on the A828 carriageway. Traffic management will be removed out with working times. This is to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, which is of paramount importance.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Premises and residents within the traffic management will be permitted access and egress during the works, although there may be times when this is restricted due to the nature of the works and to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public.
BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland wish to thank the local community and road users in advance for their patience during these essential works.
