Come to the Cool Cuil Bay Snorkelling Event, Cuil Bay, Saturday 31st August 2024 from 11 am - 1 pm
What is it?
Discover more about your local marine environment and perfect your snorkelling skills at the Cool Cuil Bay Snorkelling Event, a free event hosted by our local conservation group MaCCOLL in conjunction with the Highland and Islands Climate Hub.
- Learn about some of the common marine life you are likely to see in the area before joining your BSAC-Qualified instructors to review essential snorkelling skills.
- Join your instructor and a small group of other snorkellers for a guided tour of some fabulous underwater sites around Cuil Bay.
- Celebrate your fabulous experience with a drink and cake from our treats tent.
Everything is FREE! - although donations are welcome.
What should I bring?
The guided snorkelling tour is suitable only for those over the age of 12, and if you're under 18 you'll need to bring a responsible adult with you. Anyone over the age of 18 is of course also welcome - no previous experience required.
Please bring a wetsuit and swim shoes, as the rocks are sharp and the water can be chilly, even in the middle of summer.
If you have your own snorkel and mask - great! Otherwise, we can supply them for you.
Where is it?
Meet us at the main beach in Cuil Bay. You can improve your environmental kudos by cycling or walking using the Sustrans multi-use path Route 78 to the Cuil Bay Road.
