Upcoming Road Works - mid August 2026
- The B8043 Kingairloch Road in Ardnamurchan will be temporarily closed from 8am on 11th August until 5pm on the 12th of August to enable BT to lay cables along the road. A detour will be in place via the A861 Duisky-Loch Ailort Road, A844 Strontian-Lochaline Road, and the B8043.
- On the 5th of August, SSEN will be undertaking some tree trimming at Righ Crescent, Inchree. You'll still be able to use the road.
- In Fort William, Angus Crescent will be closed from 9am on the 11th until 5pm on 12th August, and Banff Crescent will be closed from 9am on the 13th to 5pm on the 14th of August. Both are for resurfacing work.
- In Invergarry, the Kinlochhourn Road (C1144) Road will be closed between 9 and 4 from the 3rd to the 7th of August for road works.
Please also note, the A898 Erskine Bridge in Glasgow will face a full weekend closure of the southbound carriageway and northbound lane two. These essential resurfacing works run from 8:00 PM on Friday, August 7 to 6:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Traffic Management and Diversions
- Southbound Motorway Traffic: Diverted via A82 (eastbound) to M8 Junction 17, continuing to Junction 30.
- Southbound Non-Motorway Traffic: Directed through the Clyde Tunnel using a route via Crow Road, Paisley Road West, and St James' Interchange.
- M8 Junction 30 WB Off-Slip to M898: Closed; traffic must use Junction 31 to return, then exit at J30 eastbound.
- A898 NB Off-Slip to A82 EB: Closed; traffic is redirected via Dunglass Roundabout.
- Emergency Services: Access will be maintained throughout the weekend
